Goldfinch

Goldfinch is a collection of woven and knit pieces for the home and to wear, ranging from the luxurious to the homespun and born of a deep appreciation for ancient textile techniques, the hand-made process and modern technology. We design the collection in our Oakland studio and work with our artisan partners in the culturally-rich countries of Nepal and Mexico to produce each piece with expert skill and evidence of their deft hands.

We work only with natural, biodegradable fibers—wool, yak, linen, cotton, silk and cashmere—and are conscientious about the environmental impact of our products. First, as our pieces are woven and/or knit to size, there is very little, if any, cut-and-sew waste. Second, most of our pieces are dyed with Azo-free dyes in only half of the yarns used (the weft), leaving the other yarns (the warp) completely natural and undyed. As we continue to search for and discover new artisans, we plan to incorporate the practice of natural-dyeing into our collection.

Whether you treat yourself, your home or a friend to a new piece from Goldfinch, we believe its lasting beauty will be enjoyed for many years to come.
